Stock Record(s) required not found - please amend stock files.

When trying to process an order (usually when trying to produce a credit note) you receive the error message " Stock Record(s) required not found - please amend stock files".

This error occurs when the order you are processing contains a stock code that has since been deleted from the stock file. This usually occurs on old orders as the system prevents deletion of stock codes with transactions dated in the last year.

To resolve the problem you must add the missing stock code back onto the stock file before trying to process the order.
